The Westsider’s Volunteer of the Month, April 2020: JC Clapham

JC lives in Newport, with shared care of his kids Leo, Gus and Ada, bulldog Ozzy, chickens Summer and Winter, and turtle Snuggles.

Formerly a self-confessed ‘corporate wanker in a suit’, JC is now a freelance writer, comedian/storyteller, and has recently established a business and community program training people in mental health first aid and speaks/presents on mental health and good masculinity.

New to running, JC loves getting along to parkrun at Newport Lakes, and other good running spots in the inner west.

“The Westsider has been so great to me the past few years, it’s helped me find a voice as a writer, and strengthen my identity as a person. I love being part of this community.”
